Obituary for Daniel Robert "Danny" Lima

Daniel Robert Lima went to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ at 4:58 pm on Friday, April 7, 2023 at UCI Medical Center in Orange, CA. At his time of passing, Danny, as his family and friends called him, was 81 years old and was surrounded by his loving family.

Danny was born in Phoenix, AZ and was the second born son of Antonia and Julian Lima. He grew up in Chatsworth, CA and at the age of 7 the Lima family relocated to Santa Ana, CA where Danny became a long time resident. He graduated from School of Our Lady and attended Santa Ana High School. Danny completed trade school through Santa Ana Community College and was a Tradesman Painter for thirty years.

Danny loved and cared deeply for his family and his family loved him wholeheartedly. Danny prayed the Lord’s Prayer every evening. He enjoyed listening (watching) to the daily news and animal/nature channel documentaries. His favorite music was jazz and oldies. Danny had many friends he cared about and they cared for him too. He had a joyful spirit and a strong laughter that was unforgettable. Danny loved and cared for his pets, dog Mini and cats Sorina and Chona. In Danny’s older age his eyesight diminished tremendously, but he still loved the outdoors. In his last days, Danny continued taking daily walks around his mobile home complex with the assistance of a walking device.

Our beloved Danny will be dearly missed and forever be in our hearts as he is welcomed into the arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Danny is preceded in death by his mother and father Julian and Antonia Lima, brother Ernest Lima, daughter Monique Lima, stepson Lester Delano (Ortega) and grandson Johnathon Arreola.

Danny is survived by his wife of 32 years of marriage, Pamela (Ortega) and grown children from his former marriage, daughters Elaine, Darlene (Schmidt), Kathleen (Garcia) and son Daniel Lima, Jr., including 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Danny is also survived by brothers Charles and Joseph Lima, sisters Rose (Murrietta), Margaret (Granados), and Patricia (Vega).

Thank you to all whom were part of Danny’s life and loved him dearly. A special thank you to his family, friends, drivers, doctors and nurses that cared for him in his later stage of life.
