Obituary for Dudley Byron Frank

Dudley B. Frank was born in Anaheim, California in 1933. The eldest of four brothers, he graduated from Anaheim High School in 1950. He was an athletic guy with fast hands. Dudley attended Occidental College where he was a four year member and conductor of the glee club as well as a member of the SAE fraternity. He graduated in 1954, after meeting his wife, Margaret Rawlings there.

Dudley loved music and played piano. He would always sing to strangers at the bank or anywhere he went. He raised four children, Jennifer, Jeff, Scott and Kerry. Dudley always had a plane and traveled the world including living abroad in Austria. His real estate ventures lead to many other investments which continued into his late eighties.

Dudley married his second wife, Laila Fiege-Kollmann, in 1986 and inherited four more children — Laila, Christer, Ylva, and Monica. Eventually, Dudley had 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He stayed athletic into his seventies and could free dive for four minutes without tanks. He loved the water and was a great skier and handball champion. He had a very full life and leaned into many adventures along the way. He was sharp as a tack. Dudley passed away on February 7th, 2021 after a fall a week prior. He will be missed dearly and was a great sounding board to many people.
