Obituary for Janeane Yeh
Janeane Louise Yeh, 71, of North Tustin, passed away peacefully in her home on April 25, 2023.
Born on November 12, 1951 to Jack and Marjorie Krull in New Ulm, Minnesota, Janeane was blessed to grow up as part of a very close-knit family of seven in West Covina, and later in Huntington Beach, CA. Her childhood memories are filled with endless days at the beach, family camping trips in Mexico, and summers spent in Minnesota, fishing and water skiing on Lake Koronis and learning to cook, bake, and sew from her grandmother.
Janeane attended Fountain Valley High School where she was heavily involved in the extra-curricular Modern Dance program, eventually becoming a leader of the program. She had a propensity for bringing injured animals home and nursing them back to health, foreshadowing her career in Veterinary Medicine, which she pursued after graduating in 1969. She was a member of the first board-certified class of Animal Heath Technicians in the state of California, a licensed Veterinary Radiologist, an Animal Hospital manager, and was part of a specialized animal surgey team that performed ground-breaking surgeries throughout Southern California. While she managed the Animal Rescue facility for the counties of Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties, visitors to her home would often witness her caring for an exotic animal. Whether it was an ocelot or an African lion cub, no animal could be in better or more caring hands than Janeane's.
In 1983, she met Frank Yeh in Huntington Beach, CA. Janeane and Frank were married from 1990 until her passing. They did not have any children but always had dogs, 2 Labrador Retrievers and 11 Irish Wolfhounds over the years. They bred 2 litters of Irish Wolfhound puppies and formed lifelong relationships with several of the eventual owners of their puppies. Janeane and Frank enjoyed many family gatherings, vacations, and outings with her siblings and their children. In particular, bonfires on the beach, houseboat trips on Lake Don Pedro in CA., and trips back to Lake Koronis in Minnesota were joyful times that she would always cherish.
Janeane was an avid reader and a gifted gardener, both traits she attributed to her father. An exceptional crafter, Janeane had a natural ability to visualize something and then create it. From seasonal wreaths and decorations to beautiful ceramic works of art, Janeane's creations always took people's breath away.
She was a three time cancer survivor, having been diagnosed with it in 1997, 2011, and 2019. Janeane was challenged with more than her share of significant health problems but was a fighter and always made the best of her situation. While recuperating from some of her treatments, she became an aficionado of the Zoo World game on Facebook, forging many friendships with others who played the game. She was never a world traveler, but many of her "Zoo friends" were from countries around the world and she loved learning about their particular cultures through these relationships.
Janeane was a caring, compassionate, and loving woman who opened her heart to all, and touched the lives of many.
Janeane is survived by her husband Frank, brothers Ted and David Krull, sisters Karen Morey and Sheila Sawyer, nieces April Carrasco, Amanda Wright, Rachael Schoonover, Candice Morey Davis and Krystal Morey, and nephews Jesse Krull, Joshua Albers, John Sawyer II., and Steven Sawyer.
