Obituary for Marjorie Keller

Marjorie Keller, 85, died Thursday, December 1, 2022, in Orange, California. She was born March 9, 1937 to Edward and Marguerite (Brown) Drach, wheat farmers in Hodgeman County, Kansas. She attended Dodge City High School (1955), Dodge City College for her teaching credential (1957) and taught grades 1-4 at Trinity Lutheran School in Hanover, KS for one year before she married Marine Second Lieutenant Noel Keller on June 8, 1958.

During the next 29 years while they were stationed at Quantico, VA, Pensacola, FL, Santa Ana, CA, Meridian, MS, Naval War College, Newport, RI and Iwakuni, Japan Marge volunteered her time with Lutheran churches and the Navy Relief Society. In later years she worked as a shopping center concierge and retired in 2021 from 20 years as secretary of Peace Lutheran Church in North Tustin, CA. She enjoyed various hobbies through the years and spent many years singing in church choirs and working with the music program at Peace Lutheran, where she had been a member since 1960.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Noel; their children, Traci (Mike) Eberle, North Tustin, CA, sons, Duane Keller, San Diego, CA, Kevin Keller (Julie), Anaheim Hills, CA and son-in-law, Philip Pelzman, Albuquerque; brother Norman Drach (Vinita), Dodge City; 6 grandchildren, Brian Eberle, Scott Eberle (Kelsi), Charles Pelzman, Avery Pelzman (Chelsey), Luke Keller and Molly Keller. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Arlene, and brother-in-law Donald Davis; and daughter, Brenda Pelzman.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 10:00am at Peace Lutheran Church, 18542 Vanderlip Ave, North Tustin, CA 92705 with a reception following. The family suggests memorials to Peace Lutheran Church in Marjorie’s name.
